As a visual artist I have worked in many art forms (film, computer graphics, pottery), but I am primarily a mixed media painter working in acrylic and oil. Growing up in Fort Lauderdale, I developed a love-hate relationship with Florida kitsch. As a result, I often incorporate Florida postcards into my art. This work often has an undercurrent of satirical or dark irony beneath the banal images. The vacuous, tourist imagery becomes metaphorical and part of my personal iconography.
